Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider LCSW or LPC-MHSP

Job Summary

The Free Medical Clinic (FMC) is seeking an experienced LCSW or LPC-MHSP with a minimum of five (5) years of post-licensure experience to provide integrated behavioral health services and clinical supervision within a multidisciplinary, mission-driven setting. This role supports FMC’s clinic-based and mobile services, including participation in the Syringe Services Program (SSP) and the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based care to underserved populations.

Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (no nights and no weekends, unless participating in FMC events

Clinical Services

  • Provide comprehensive behavioral health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment

  • Deliver individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches

  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning

  • Treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

  • Integrate screening tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7, AUDIT, ORT) into care workflows

Clinical Supervision

  • Provide supervision to post-master’s LPC candidates pursuing LPC-MHSP licensure

  • Ensure supervision meets Tennessee Board requirements, including:

  • Minimum required supervision hours and frequency

  • Oversight of clinical work, documentation, and ethical practice

  • Completion and maintenance of supervision documentation

  • Support professional development, case review, and licensure readiness

Team-Based Care & Collaboration

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care and warm handoffs with medical providers

  • Coordinate care with Community Health and external partners

  • Facilitate referrals and continuity of care

Program Support & Compliance

  • Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintain timely, accurate EMR documentation

  • Support grant reporting and SSP-related data collection: Syringe Services Program (SSP); Participate in mobile SSP operations providing harm reduction-focused care; Conduct screenings and brief interventions; Support linkage to MAT/MOUD, detox, and recovery services; Collaborate with Overdose Prevention and Community Health teams

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Counseling

  • Active Tennessee LCSW or LPC-MHSP credentials

  • Minimum 5 years post-licensure experience

  • Approved to serve as a clinical supervisor per Tennessee Board requirements

  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred

  • Experience with underserved or rural populations

  • Experience with co-occurring disorders and substance use treatment

  • Integrated care or primary care setting experience

  • 2 years of supervisory experience

Work Environment

  • Clinic-based in Oak Ridge, Rockwood, and with regular mobile outreach participation

  • Standard hours with flexibility for outreach and program needs
